Policies

Age Policy

While age and school grade are valuable considerations for determining class levels, we understand that each child and family situation is unique. If you encounter challenges with class times or placement for your child, kindly reach out to info@brookhavendance.com, and we will work together to find the best solution for your child and family.

Attendance

Consistent attendance is crucial for student progress, and there are no make-up classes available. Regular participation is essential for advancing through the study levels. Students aspiring to participate in recitals are strongly encouraged to minimize absences leading up to the performance. Please note that refunds are not provided for missed classes.

Class Calendar & Severe Weather

Brookhaven Dance generally follows the Atlanta Public School’s (APS) calendar. In case of inclement weather, the studio will close when Atlanta Public Schools close. Check our Facebook page for updates on weather-related cancellations. Unfortunately, we do not offer makeup classes for inclement weather closures.

Class Cancellations

Brookhaven Dance reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. Families with enrolled students will be contacted to discuss alternative options.

Discontinuance

To discontinue classes, a thirty (30) day written notice is required. Notify us by emailing info@brookhavendance.com to withdraw your dancer.

For summer camps, summer classes, and summer intensives, we implement a 2-week cancellation policy. Refunds are not provided for missed classes, canceled classes, or withdrawals. All tuition paid is non-refundable, and credits, when applicable, are non-transferable.

Dress Code

Students must adhere to the dress code specified by their class instructor, including appropriate attire and hairstyle.

Drop off & Pick Up

Students should wait in the lobby until the teacher signals the start of the class. Parents of dancers aged 5 and under should stay with their children in the lobby until class begins. Students must remain in the lobby until their parent or guardian arrives. Our staff prioritizes the safety of our dancers during class dismissal and check-in. Other matters will be addressed once dancers are safely in class or with a parent/caregiver.

Health & Wellness

Parents are urged to keep sick dancers at home. Dancers and staff must wash their hands before entering the studio. A symptom-free period of at least 24 hours is required before returning to the studio.

Late Pick Up Policy

A fee will be charged for late pickups. Starting 15 minutes after class or rehearsal, a $15 charge will be applied for every subsequent 15 minutes. Please notify us in advance if you anticipate a late pickup.

Level Advancement

Placement is determined by age, ability, dance experience, and class size.

Lost & Found

Lost items are held for two weeks and then donated if unclaimed. We recommend labeling all clothing/shoes with your dancer’s name.

Performance Opportunities

Students can showcase their talent during our spring recital. Performance and recital fees are non-refundable. Costumes, once ordered and distributed, cannot be returned. Credits may be issued on a case-by-case basis for dancers unable to perform.

Tuition Policy

To enroll in classes, the first month of tuition and a registration fee are required. All tuition paid is non-refundable and non-transferable. Tuition covers class costs only and excludes performance fees, costume fees, dance portraits, etc. Tuition is based on a 10-month season and is not prorated by the number of weeks in a month.

Tuition is charged via Auto-pay on the 1st of each month. Failed auto-payments will trigger a reminder for parents to update their payment information. If tuition is not paid by the 5th of the month, a $10.00 late charge will be added. An additional $25 late fee will be added if not paid by the 15th. Students falling two months behind will not be allowed in class until the account is settled, including late fees. Families with outstanding balances 60 days past due will be automatically dropped from classes.

Summer camps and classes must be paid in full upon enrollment.
