Cardio-based classes are also beginner-friendly and a fun way to build musicality and confidence moving to music. All levels are welcome in every class, but if you’re looking for a slower-paced introduction, our Intro Level classes are the perfect place to begin.

Adult Classes

  • For all of our adult classes, you’re welcome to wear anything you feel comfortable moving in! While there’s no required dress code, here are some general guidelines based on what most clients wear in each style:

    • Ballet: Tights and leotards are welcome, but many dancers wear leggings and a form-fitting top. Ballet shoes are great, but socks or bare feet work too.

    • Jazz: Similar to ballet - leggings or athletic wear and a fitted top. Jazz shoes are welcome, but not required.

    • Hip Hop: Baggier clothes are common for comfort and style, along with clean sneakers.

    • Modern: Same attire as ballet - fitted and comfortable. Bare feet are typical.

    • Soca & VXN: Think cardio workout gear - leggings, shorts, tanks, or t-shirts. Sneakers are recommended.

    • Tap: Similar to Jazz - leggings or athletic wear and a fitted top. Tap shoes are not required, especially for a first class, but they do make the class more fun! If you would like to try tap class before purchasing tap shoes, please wear sneakers instead.

No matter the class, just come ready to move and have fun!

  • Just yourself and a water bottle! Aside from wearing shoes and clothes appropriate for your specific class, there’s nothing else you need to bring. While we don’t sell bottled water, we do have a filtered water refill station available for your convenience.

  • It is ideal to arrive about five minutes before your class so that you are not rushed in preparing for class.

Kids Classes

  • We charge a one-time registration fee of $50 for every student signing up for classes that meet from August through May. Only one registration fee will be charged per student regardless of the number of classes taken.

  • Dancers are expected to come to class in the uniform specific to the class they are taking.

You can find uniform information for your dancer on their class page on the parent portal. Generally, this means athletic clothing your child is comfortable moving in, but please refer to the class description for specifics. In addition to their uniform, hair should be pulled back out of the face. No necklaces, bracelets or dangling earrings should be worn to class.

  • Just themselves and a water bottle! Aside from wearing shoes and clothes appropriate for their specific class, there’s nothing else they need to bring. While we don’t sell bottled water, we do have a filtered water refill station available for your convenience.

  • To access your dancer’s class schedule or update your account details, just log in to the parent portal. Click ‘Login’ at the top of our Home page and use the same credentials you used when creating your account.

  • To avoid distractions, parents and caregivers are not allowed to observe classes. To give you the chance to see your child in action, we offer one observation week per semester as well as an end of year recital.

  • Enrollment is open as long as there is space in the class. Once classes begin working on their recital dances and the costumes are ordered, enrollment is closed. Please reach out to us at info@brookhavendance.com if your dancer would like to register midway through the year.
